PERTH CHIROPRACTIC
Chiropractic doctors practice natural, drug-free, non-invasive health care and rely on the body’s ability to self-heal. Our highly skilled pracitioners deliver specific spinal adjustments to correct the body's normal spinal alignment. Sounds ideal, but just how does it work?
We look at the whole picture.
Like other health-care providers, we follow a standard routine to gain information about the patient. We consult, review the case history, conduct a physical examination, and we may request laboratory analyses and/or x-rays. Unlike other health-care providers, however, Chiropractic physicians also conduct a careful analysis of the patient’s structure and pay particular attention to the spine. We also ask you about your life— Do you eat well? Exercise at all? How do you deal with stress? Do you have children? What do you do for work? And so on.
We seek the origin of the problem.
Using this information, a diagnosis is made. Included in the diagnosis is the probable reason for your pain or discomfort. It is important to note that Chiropractors seek the origin of the illness in order to eliminate it, we do not simply treat the symptoms. If your roof is leaking, do you simply catch the drips in a bucket for years on end, or do you repair the roof to prevent it from leaking? Similarly, if the migraine headache you’ve had all week is being caused by misaligned vertebra and an irritated nerve, do you continue to take pain killers indefinitely, or do you realign the vertebra to prevent the pain? You get the picture.
We fix the origin of the problem.
Chiropractors have a term for misalignments: subluxations. A vertebral subluxation is a misalignment of the bones that protect the spinal cord. It’s a leak in the roof. Or a kink in the wiring of your nervous system. The severity of the subluxation can vary, and there are a number of potential contributing factors that can be physical, emotional, mental, or chemical. The subluxation can be caused by any number of incidents, from birth trauma to a motor vehicle accident to simple repetition or over-use. Your Chiropractor will use safe effective adjusting methods to help correct these subluxations. Techniques which we utilise in our office include manual, diversified, thompson, drop-piece, activator, and SOT.

PERTH PODIATRY
What does a Podiatrist do?
A Podiatrist is a university qualified allied health practitioner who specialises in treating foot and lower limb conditions.
Podiatry is spilt into two categories, general foot care and sports podiatry. General foot care consists of treating conditions such as corns; callous, ingrown nails, plantar warts, general nail cutting etc.
Sports podiatry encompasses assessing how the foot and leg functions when walking and running and how this relates to the rest of the body. It includes treating conditions such as heel pain, shin splints, bunions, big toe joint pain, knee pain some hip lower back pain etc.
How does Podiatry work?
At Melville Wellness Centre we manage the effect that the foot has on the entire body as well as the effect that the body has on the foot.
We believe that foot function is paramount to good posture and ongoing optimal health. We have a holistic outlook with our podiatry approach and we believe in using a team care plan to maximise results.
We manage foot and lower limb problems by:

PERTH SPORTS THERAPY & REMEDIAL MASSAGE
Melville Wellness Centre's highly experienced Massage Therapists utilise several different techniques including Sports Massage, Remedial Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, and Lymphatic Drainage (reduction of swelling). Each treatment is individually tailored to cater for the specific requirements of the patient.
What is Massage Therapy?
Massage Therapy was at one time a luxury treatment found at spas and salons. Today, its benefits extend into mainstream medical centres, corporate offices and Chiropractic offices. There’s a good reason for this. Taking care of soft tissue problems before they domino into more pain and discomfort just makes sense, and massage therapy treats these issues where they often begin; in muscle tissue.
Even if you are undergoing spinal adjustment therapy for spinal subluxation, the problem is only partially treated if the adjoining muscle tissue isn’t treated. Muscles that remain tight will undo the work your Chiropractor has done to realign your vertebrae.
Massage Therapy is effective for low back pain, upper back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, stress, slow healing issues, and as ongoing therapy for scoliosis, sciatica, osteoarthritis and other disorders.
Massage Therapy techniques include sustained pressure and stretching to address trigger points, with a focus on practices tailored to you and your issues.
Why we provide Massage Therapy at Melville Wellness Centre.
When Massage Therapy is included in Chiropractic Treatment, studies have shown the recovery times are faster and more permanent. Massage Therapy also is the perfect complement to spinal adjustments because it creates a more relaxed, healthier muscle tissue and treatments proceed optimally. Massage Therapy also helps Spinal Adjustments last longer.
We have found that a multi-pronged approach to treating most disorders or to helping maintain balance and harmony is best. That’s why when you walk into our clinic, you’ll have available to you many related treatment options. With Massage Therapy you can find relief, greater mobility, more energy, faster healing and a healthier life.
