Blurry vision and headache

Experiencing blurry vision and headaches is never pleasant. Many are caused by the presence of emotional distress, tension or infections, particularly when we are suffering from a virus. They are extremely common and most people experience the symptoms at least once in their life, with blurred vision and headaches affecting around 10% of the population on a severe, persistent level.

Headaches can be so bad that they cause problems with your vision. If this is the case, you might wonder as to the cause. Here are a few reasons why you may be experiencing headaches and blurred vision.

What causes blurry vision and headaches?

Low blood sugar

Our blood sugar usually peaks and dips throughout the day naturally, but if yours falls below 70 milligrams per decilitre, you are at risk of developing hypoglycaemia. This can be extremely dangerous if not treated.

One of the symptoms of this is blurry vision and headaches, but if it is accompanied by fatigue, a fast heartbeat, confusion and sweating, you should go and check this out with a doctor.

You might also want to consume foods that are high in sugars and carbs when you experience these symptoms to give yourself a boost, and always consult with your GP.

Eye strain

Do you spend every day in front of a screen whilst sitting at your desk? And when you come home, do you always complain of a headache? Your eyes are becoming exhausted from prolonged use, which is causing tension around your brow and face. This leads to nasty pains and blurry vision. You might also experience symptoms such as a sore neck and back.

Certain kinds of therapy can be highly effective in reducing these symptoms. Sometimes, all you need to do is unwind. Chiropractic therapy is known to reduce migraines which are not caused by an underlying health problem by targeting the spine. A chiropractor can gently manipulate the joints and allow your pains to heal quickly and naturally – no more paracetamol necessary.
